tiny image composer

tiny image composer is a tiny tool to turn a handful of images into lower resolution composite webp images.

it was originally created to resize and downscale images for this website (in the spirit of low carbon web).

it accepts image files such as jpeg, png and webp. it has been created with 4:3 aspect ratio images in mind. it outputs either 1600x1200 or 800x600 images in webp format.

as an example, six photos taken on a phone totalling 48.1mb can be exported as a single webp image of around 550kb (over 85× smaller).
